The Candlelight Vigil

Mark November 17 on Your Calendar for the 2011 Candlelight Vigil

Sometimes even the smallest effort can have an enormous impact on a homeless kid's life.

The very meaning of "grassroots action" is a movement that starts from the ground up and is driven by the beliefs of a community. If you care passionately about the welfare of America's kids, then the possibilities for making a difference are limitless. Big or small, every action counts, and every effort you make shows these kids that someone really does care.

Each November, in cities across the country, our Candlelight Vigils are symbols of the light that everyday citizens can bring to homeless kids to let them know that there are people who care... people who want to help brighten their path for a better future.

For 20 years, the Candlelight Vigil has honored the memories of the kids who never made it off the streets - the kids who died alone and anonymously, without ever knowing there were people who cared.

And now, thanks to our Virtual Candlelight Vigil, you can be a symbol for the thousands of kids still on the streets. Help light the flame that leads kids to Covenant House - and a new start in life.

By lighting a virtual candle for homeless kids right now, you can make a difference.

Or you can go a step further by organizing a community candlelight vigil or hosting a candlelight dinner party in your home to give hope to homeless kids and illuminate their lives.  If you are interested in doing this, please contact Jessica Parks, jparks@covenanthouse.org, (404) 589-0163.
